Based in Concord, CA we currently have an opportunity for a Project Director to help lead and grow our Rail and Transit team , with a focus primarily across the northern half of the State. You will work out of one of our existing offices, operating on a flex program, with an option of up to 3 remote days per week. Based on the candidate and experience, opportunities to collaborate with Transportation Planning/Traffic Engineering, Roads/Highways/Bridges, Maritime and Coastal, and other related practices will be provided.

As a Project Director, you will support our transportation and rail and transit leadership team and oversee transportation and related rail and transit projects across the State with a primary focus as noted above. The position will include support of business development, providing client relationship management, and leading a diversified portfolio of projects and project types, as required. The position may include limited staff management.

Our ideal candidate has strong leadership, business development, project management, and transportation planning skills. Established client relationships and a consistent record with developing new business opportunities is required. The ideal candidate will assist in the following areas:

  • Business and Client Relationship Development and Management
  • Marketing activities, including market evaluation and strategy, pre-marketing activities, and proposal development
  • Staff Mentorship/Team Project Leadership
  • Leading teams to deliver rail, transit and mobility related projects
  • Drive the transportation business primarily across the US West
  • Oversight of the preparation / Quality Assurance of conceptual design documents
  • Technical Report Writing / Quality Assurance
  • Ability to attract and recruit industry talent at different levels, including other key leads
  • Comfortable presenting in front of panels and audiences
  • Team-oriented, critical thinker, with a passion for client relations and delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading teams in preparing conceptual design packages
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously; and have strong organizational, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Planning or related fields
  • AICP and LEED-AP certifications preferred
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience across transportation market. Experience on rail and transit projects and/or major transportation projects is required.
  • Ability to attract and recruit industry talent at different levels, including other key leads
  • Comfortable presenting in front of panels and audiences
  • Team-oriented, critical thinker, with a passion for client relations and delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading teams in preparing conceptual design packages

Salary Range: $178,000-$290,000 based on experience
