Ghost RX is looking for a qualified Cardiac Echo Sonographer to work at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN .

QUALIFICATIONS:
Active unrestricted State License from any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia
The ability to pass a government background clearance mandatory for this position
REQUIREMENTS:
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification
SHIFT EXPECTATIONS:
Start date: ASAP
Contract length: 3, 12, & 12 month options
Monday – Friday (no weekends)
Typical shifts: 06:00-16:30, 07:30-16:00, 08:00-16:30, 10:00-18:30, 08:00-18:30
CORE DUTIES:
Requires comprehensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, disease states and the ability to skillfully use all echo modalities.
Explains routine and non-routine procedures to patients and other authorized individuals to ally fear of process, relieve anxiety to achieve proper positioning.
Observe the patient’s condition, making notation of pertinent information, vital signs and other clinical information in accordance with the established practices and in response to physician demand or changes in the patient’s condition.
Recognizes serious patient abnormalities and individualizes each recording to the needs of the situation to produce reliable tracings of diagnostic quality.
Performs cardiac ultrasound examinations and quantifies observed abnormalities, including complex calculations of valve areas and alterations in function and ejection fraction.
Measure pulmonary artery pressures, valve areas, cardiac output, cardiac chambers, gradients and flow assessments.
