Inventory Control Lead

Giant Food is Hiring immediately for an Inventory Control Lead and we are looking for people just like you to come join our team at Giant Delivers in Manassas, VA

Description ofResponsibilities

• Working in all areas of the warehouse each workday: ambient, chill, frozen
• Maintaining regular communication with Merchandising & Buying team on inventory counts and product data
• Directing the work of inventory associates, as determined by leadership
• Coaching and training associates on inventory processes
• Verifying customer complaints on inventory concerns, such as product quality/dates
• Providing on the floor feedback to associates; communicating employee or operational issues to leadership
• Completing regular cycle counts and inventory corrections
• Slot maintenance (location, proper labeling, capacity)
• Verifying product information (packing, description, UPC, etc.) on items
• Properly handling food products (and containers) to ensure food safety, sanitation, and cold-chain standards are met without fail
• Ensuring the appropriate handling, removal, disposal, and processing of damaged or expired product
• Ongoing items-system maintenance
• Meeting productivity expectations and other performance measures and holding the inventory associates accountable
• Promoting a productive and safe work environment
• Performing work functions efficiently with a focus on safety
• Other duties as assigned/needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel)
• Excellent written communication skills
• Experience working in Inventory and/or Quality Assurance departments
• Ability to make quick decisions in ambiguous environments
• Experience working in a warehouse
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

Essential Functions:

• Be able to work in all departments – ambient, chill, freezer, etc.
• Be able to work assigned AM or PM shift
• Be able to walk/sit/stand the entire shift
• Be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
