Overview
The housekeeper is assigned to clean resident rooms, dining areas. Hallways, restrooms and or other designated areas. The purpose of this position is to implement facility housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Responsibilities
- Cleans assigned work areas by cleaning furnishings, equipment and mopping floors based on manufactures instructions.
- Applies disinfectant to surfaces to prevent spread of disease in accordance with infection prevention standards
- Collects and empties trash, disposes of bio-hazard, recycle materials in accordance with established standards
- Collects soiled linen bags from resident care areas
- Sanitizes and polishes sinks, tubs, mirror and other hard surface areas
- Vacuums carpets and spot cleans as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
- Respectful, mature interaction with residents
- Notify supervisor when supplies are needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience
- Skill in operating a variety of cleaning equipment
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write and hear to perform essential functions
- Knowledge of chemicals, chemical safety, safe environmental cleaning and infection control practices
- Must have good communication skills
- Employment at the Caring House requires: AZ Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.
