GILBANE is looking for an Accountant I to support our Glastonbury, CT Office.

Gilbane is seeking a Project Accountant I that will partner with our on-site project teams and assist with the financials for our projects. If you are looking for a hands-on accounting opportunity, this is the role for you to consider further! As part of the Business Unit Accounting team, you will maintain journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist the accounting team in technical aspects of compliance and production work. This role will sit primarily in the office, but travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
As an Accountant I, you will:
- Assist with pay applications
- Track and review receivables
- Review and process accounts payable
- Help ensure overall compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Provide accounting support for on-site project management teams
- Assist with compliance
- Assist with payroll functions, including adjustments and closings
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in the construction industry
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Connecticut this ranges from $48,880.00X-$67,210.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
