The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions. This role involves preparing complex financial reports, performing account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and providing leadership within the accounting department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all financial information.
General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and review journal entries and adjustments.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Involved in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure all financial deadlines are met and accurate financial data is reported.
Account Reconciliation:
- Perform and review complex account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Audit and Compliance:
- Prepare for and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and report on variances.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review tax filings and ensure timely submission.
- Assist with tax planning and compliance issues.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
- Train and mentor staff accountants and other team members.
Special Projects:
- Lead or participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance financial operations and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification or equivalent is preferred.
- 3-6 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software, NetSuite preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in public accounting or audit.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software.
Work Environment:
- Remote office setting with standard working hours.
- Occasional overtime may be required during peak periods, such as month-end and year-end close.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
