What are the responsibilities and job description for the Camp Director Cedarledge position at Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri?
The Camp Director-Cedarledge is to plan, implement and direct the Resident Camp operations at Camp Cedarledge to provide a safe, fun, high quality Girl Scout camp experience. Resident Camp employment is seasonal, with dates of employment approximately May– August 2022 at Camp Cedarledge in Pevely, Mo. Limited hourly work, including some evening meetings, will be required prior to camp season. This position lives on site for the duration of the resident camp program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Assists the Senior Manager, Resident Camp in the development and implementation of all summer camp programs at Camp Cedarledge in June, July, and August
- Plans and implements a pre-camp training plan for all staff members that meets Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), American Camp Association (ACA) and council standards for resident camp staff. Maintains training records
- Monitors camp operations to ensure that all established health and safety standards are in place and are followed. Maintains compliance with GSUSA, ACA and council health and safety standards and procedures
- Makes appropriate staffing assignments in collaboration with Senior Manager, Resident Camp. Ensures all staff understand the expectations of their job descriptions and staffing assignments prior to the arrival of campers. Coordinates employed staff time off schedules in accordance with established policies
- Trains and supervises Equestrian Director, Program Director, Waterfront Director and Health Services Supervisor.
- Maintains all necessary records, reports, inventories, and evaluations. Submits all required reports, administrative records, and paperwork according to established deadlines. Maintains system for maintenance and storage of camp records and paperwork
- Monitors camp budget and financial operations. Approves camp expenditures. Maintains budget documentation and inventory as directed by the Senior Manager, Resident Camp
- Provides direction and support to all staff in handling accidents, incidents, and emergencies. Immediately informs the Senior Manager, Resident Camp in the event of accidents, incidents, and emergencies. Coordinates the completion of required reports
- Coordinates and manages the cleaning, inventory and closing of the camp at the end of the season
- Consistently demonstrates a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism to staff, volunteers, members, and general public

QUALIFICATIONS
- Meets GSUSA membership requirements and attained the minimum age of 25
- Abides by national and local Girl Scout policies, standards and procedures and American Camp Association standards and procedures
- Holds a valid driver’s license
- Has demonstrated successful administrative and supervisory experience
- Has strong organizational skills and the ability to delegate and coordinate the work of others.
- Has strong communication, team building and conflict management skills
- Has demonstrated good judgment, maturity, flexibility, and ability to maintain positive attitude
- Has current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certifications or the willingness and ability to obtain
