Girl Scouts of Gateway Council is currently seeking a Military Liaison and Relationship Manager based 
in Jacksonville, FL.

The Military Liaison and Relationship Manager is responsible for developing and sustaining the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council's relationships with military bases across the North Florida 35-county council jurisdiction. The position is responsible for new member recruitment (girls and adults), membership conversion, and membership renewals. The individual in this position will serve as the primary point of contact for all military outreach, partnership building, engaging volunteers, and providing support that will lead to success in their volunteer roles. 
 
The position entails extensive travel, serving as the network connection to the appropriate military contacts by increasing awareness, participation, and support of Girl Scouts by engaging in meetings, networking, and presentation opportunities on military bases. The position works collaboratively with other members of the staff team toward achieving the council’s strategic vision, short- and long-term plans, and project work. 
  
In addition, this position is responsible for: 
 
  • The development and implementation of membership strategies with all military bases located in the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council jurisdiction.
  • Identifying opportunities and supporting the recruitment of girl/adult members through community cultivation, lead generation, and follow-up.
  • To serve as advocate and ambassador for each base, helping to identify volunteers to fill key positions, provide mentorship and essential training and support, and serve as a resource and bridge to Council. 
  • Cultivating and maintaining strategic relationships within the assigned areas including but not limited to local schools/educators, faith-based organizations, community leaders, parent organizations, businesses, and community organizations to support the growth of Girl Scouts across North Florida.
  • Communicating regularly with Volunteer Community Leadership Teams and attending Community meetings. Attends and participates in Council Connection, Community planning meetings, leader meetings, ceremonies, and special events. Note: Attendance at other events and programs, such as Camporees/Bridging Ceremonies, may be expected.
  • Ongoing support of volunteers in partnership with First Year Volunteer Coach, to maintain school relationships, plan/host recruitment events, and address membership growth and renewal strategies.
  • Acting as administrator for Gateway Council Community Facebook page(s) that serves the volunteers within your geographical region(s). Monitors and response to volunteer inquiries via social media outlets under the direction of the Marketing and Communications department.
  • Serving as a conduit in conflict resolution between volunteers and/or parents/caregivers while showing respect for each point of view and knowing when to escalate conflicts to Council management. 
  • Monitoring a variety of status reports, including activity, follow-up, and adherence to goals. Work with the data team to identify recruitment and product program delivery opportunities.
  • Managing the Community reporting in compliance with Council and National reporting standards and requirements including annual troop financial reports.  
  • Attending and participating in council and GSUSA-sponsored training activities to learn and stay current with updates to Volunteer Systems and movement-wide best practices.
  • Promoting and providing assistance to programs/activities, fundraisers, and special events, as needed.
  • Ensuring Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults by delivering the Girl Scouts' message of pluralism and diversity to members of the Council.
 
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
 
  • Performing other duties and participating in council-wide initiatives, as assigned.
  • Former or Retired Military Veteran of the US Armed Forces
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in recruitment and retention of memberships.
  • 3 years in sales or account management.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, vehicle in working condition, and proof of insurance to travel within the assigned geographic area.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to clear a driver record check
  • Ability to clear a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Level 2 Background screening.
  • Experience in volunteer management.
 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualifications
 
  • Successful experience working with a relational database, Salesforce preferred. 
  • Excellent networking skills and the ability to build relationships and work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and ages.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills that attract, and appeal to, diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently effectively and supply regular reporting of outcomes to management.
  • Superior time management skills to maximize productivity, and adherence to performance goals.
  • Willingness to promote visibility and credibility of Girl Scouting in the community, within compliance with our brand standards.
  • Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office, Outlook, MS Teams, Zoom, and Salesforce
  • Understanding and acceptance of the Girl Scout promise, law, beliefs, and principles.

Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
