Position Summary

The Membership Placement Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all activities required for membership are completed. This person converts inquiries and leads (primarily online and phone) into retainable Girl Scout members and places girls and volunteers into their troops. This person is also responsible for administrative functions that support the Community Engagement Team efforts to meet membership goals to increase overall Girl Scout troop membership growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Follows up on new leads and referrals in a timely fashion.

· Coordinates the placement of registered girls into appropriate troops.

· Coordinates the placement of registered adults into appropriate volunteer roles.

· Provides exceptional customer service both internally and externally.

· Uses customer relationship management system to create reports and support prospective members and volunteers throughout the recruitment process to completion of closed status.

· Provides support for newly recruited volunteers in the application and onboarding process and plays a key role in identifying and improving lead conversion techniques.

· Utilize reports to assess membership gaps, communicating the needs of each community in their assigned area.

· Performs administrative duties, including but not limited to ordering, managing and distributing supplies for community engagement events, communicating with external organizations and volunteers, and creating, updating, and maintaining data.

· Ensures Girl Scouts welcomes all girls and adults by embodying the Girl Scout way of diversity and inclusiveness.

Education or Experience

· Associate degree or higher preferred or a minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in customer service, project management, communications, sales, recruitment or related field.

· Bilingual preferred, but not required.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Demonstrated customer service skills.

· Experience with a volunteer workforce or membership organization is a plus.

· Competencies in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a willingness and aptitude to learn other software applications. Salesforce experience is a plus.

· Ability to work in a team environment to accomplish established goals.

· Work requires normal physical effort for primarily an office environment.

· Ability to work independently within the framework of the council’s plan of work.

· Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect, and professionalism.

· Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

· Highly organized and detail-oriented with a bias towards execution and action.

· Skilled relationship builder with a demonstrated ability to motivate and collaborate effectively across every level of the organization.

· A proactive team player willing to pitch in at all levels while holding a big-picture, systems-thinking mindset.

· Be or become a registered member of the Girls Scouts of the United States of America; have a working knowledge of Girl Scout philosophy and programming, and be committed to the Girl Scout mission. Prior Girl Scout experience is not required.

Other Requirements

· Must be able to occasionally work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.

· Anticipated time away from the office is 25%.

· Possess a valid driver’s License and proof of insurance.

· Must be able to work both in an office setting and independently off-site.

Physical Requirements

· The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand:

a. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

b. Operate office equipment manually.

c. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds at times.

Salary: $17-$21 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
