What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Director position at GIRLS HAVEN?
Girls’ Haven is seeking a Clinical Director with a passion for working with children in the foster care system. We have a unique team-based program that is looking for a passionate Clinical Director who is experienced in working with this population. Our focus is on healing past trauma, stabilizing current and future placements, and equipping our youth to have healthy relationships in the future. Our treatment models are focused on Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI). You will be responsible for supervising and directing employees that include case managers of residential services. In addition, provide individual and group therapy to residents as needed. As the Clinical Director you must possess excellent management and mentoring skills. You must be an outstanding communicator able to resolve conflicts and issues. The position calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, maintaining a maximum level of confidentiality, project coordination, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management including other staff and board of directors of Girls’ Haven.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that abuse and neglect concerns are appropriately reported and immediate actions are taken to ensure client safety.
- Ensure client safety through regular supervision of staff, documentation review, and direct observation of service provision.
- Oversee resolution of incidents. This would include the development and monitoring of safety plans and completing documentation that mitigates high risk behaviors.
- Supervise and support staff to assure that services are in accordance with program description.
- Assure the implementation of all applicable state regulations, contract requirements, DFPS requirements and Girls’ Haven policies and procedures.
- Make sure that documentation clearly delineates service provisions and supports the client’s current level of care/medical necessity.
- Schedule and oversee monthly psychiatric appointments to monitor resident’s medications.
- Become certified in the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths Assessment (CANS), if applicable.
- Accept referrals and complete intake process, if necessary.
- Provide on-call support; which includes responding to emergency situations after hours.
Education, Licensure and/or Experience
- Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
- Three years of experience providing treatment services for children with an emotional disorder including 1 year in a residential setting.
- Independent license: LPC, LCSW, LMFT
Other Requirements
- Valid driver's license, appropriate insurance, and reliable car.
- Must successfully pass all background screens as required by the state.
- Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must submit to and pass random drug tests during employment.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week.
