Ownership and management for the USA Manufacturing operation’s EHS program. Effectively manage and mitigate exposure while creating a compelling environmental management safety vision and strategy where “safety is a value” and in alignment with Giti Core Values.
Provide leadership and oversight for developing, continuously improving and deploying effective EHS policies and procedures.
Ensure EHS program alignment with the businesses short and long term business plan. Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance while serving as primary executive contact with relevant government agencies; act as the organization’s representative at regulatory hearings and legislative meetings. Assure that the connection between the safety team and entire organization’s operation is aligned and working in unison toward one clear vision and mission.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Provides environmental health and safety leadership to USA Manufacturing operations. Strong safety knowledge base with experience designing safety programs and process improvement, performing job hazard analysis and worker safety program development. Expertise in implementing, training and tracking, calculating and analyzing data to determine KPI’s resulting in solutions to process changes
- Maintains compliance with governmental requirements and sustains EHS management system
- Ensures execution and continuous improvement of key EHS initiatives and requirements
- Develops and supports EHS processes to building associate engagement and empowerment including management of wellness programs
- Develops and achieves annual EHS operating plan goals for USA Manufacturing Operations and executes EHS capital plans
- Leads incident and near miss reporting – investigation and identification of contributing factors and completion of corrective/preventative actions
- Provides training on new equipment and related processes to ensure safety assessments are completed and issues are addressed. Ensures onsite subject matter experts are trained for future employee training and annual reviews and updates
- Lead organization to best practice and best in class environmental management safety program and performance with continuous development toward a strong safety culture
- Attract, develop, coach, engage and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility and performance

This position is expected to have supervisory responsibilities
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health Safety Management or related field
- Advanced degree, MBA preferred
- Ten (10) – Fifteen (15) years manufacturing leadership experience with a focus on EHS
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) – Board of Safety Professionals
- Lean Six Sigma expertise preferred
- OSHA Authorized Course Training Certification strongly preferred
- Experience in handling various audits and completing action plans for improvements
- Knowledge of applicable laws related to environment, health and safety and related compliances
- Experience handling Environmental, Health and Safety awareness and implementation initiatives
- Experience in leading continuous improvement/optimization initiatives
- Ability to direct cross-functional work groups to achieve objectives, goals and timelines
- Strong communication, business, technical, analytical and planning skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills
Salary : $81,400 - $103,000
