What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientist II position at Givaudan?
As Analytical Scientist you will contribute to our business growth by generating composition information on a wide range of products enabling our Commercial and Research teams to develop consumer preferred solutions and new ingredients. You will report to the Manager of the Analytical Science team.
You will:
- Generate, interpret and communicate analytical data on the composition of flavor, food and beverages for commercial projects and research initiatives.
- Discuss projects, objectives and results with flavor creation and research teams to optimize output and enable successful product development.
- Execute, improve and develop methods and capabilities.
- Carry out, organize and execute research and technical projects within own function and/or helps plan and execute a broad range of procedures to complete major pro-grams.
- Maintain instruments and databases.

Your professional profile includes:
- Master in chemistry, food chemistry or related fields or equivalent, ideally experiences in the flavor or fragrance industry.
- Experience in HPLC or LC MS is required, Ion Chromatography or familiarity with GC or GC/MS is a plus.
- Persistent analytical mind with the ability to deal with large datasets.
- Creative and systematic thinking and problem solving capabilities.
- Curious to investigate unexpected result and ability to deal with uncertainty.
- Aggressively pursue new approaches to research challenges in area of expertise.
- High interest in growing your knowledge and interacting with modern, complex analytical instruments.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
