What are the responsibilities and job description for the Expeditor position at GKN Aerospace Inc?
PURPOSE:
Mornitor and coordinate material flow and inventory accuracy throughout the manufacturing facility. Assure system data and physical location of all invenotryes are accurate and reconciled. Perform daily inventory counts through all storage and manufacturing locations according to cycle count procedure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily raw, wip and FG inventory counts according to cycle cout procedure.
- Confirm inventory accuracy thorough all manufacturing locations to validate all wip inventory is issued to correct work order.
- Assist shop floor panner with inventory related tasks.
- Provide input for Material Requirement Planning / Vendor Scheduling process,
- Proactively communicate/escalate to the management team potential MPS issues/constraints to trigger preventive actions in order to mitigate supply failure risk,
- Monitor Stock cover daily in order to avoid Stock outs as well as overstocks.
- Regularly analyze Inventory target level vs Customer demand in order to optimize/chellenge current status and search for improvement opportunities,
- Ensure processes relevant KPI's are monitored and PDCA approach applied with A3 in case of deviation to ensure targets are delivered in a sustainable way (e.g.: Schedule Adherence, Customer DSA, Inventory Turns),
- Proactively communicate/escalate to the MPS Planner / management team potential production execution issues/constraints to trigger preventive actions against potential supply failure,
- On regular (daily) basis track, challenge and report to Management team Schedule Adherence with reasons for deviation,
- Help ensure a safe work environment
- Comply with site policies, procedures, work instructions, and risk management requirements
- Expedite material through manufacturing, assembly, and test steps in support of on time in full MPS work order fulfillment
- Work with warehousing to coordinate material delivery to the shop floor and material returns from the shop floor
- Ensure that component availability and inventory-related performance metrics are achieved
- Ensure FAR MMAS and other inventory management regulatory compliance
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/ GED and 3 years' warehouse / inventory experience in a manufacturing environment OR Bachelor degree in supply chain, logistics or related field required.
Microsoft Excel experience
ERP/MRP experience preferred
APICS Certification preferred
Experience in manufacturing, assembly, and test environments at the shop floor level
Ability to identify, structure, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
Proficiency with computers / systems used in production environments
Ability to collect / analyze data and create / understand reports in support of manufacturing scheduling and flows
Effective teamwork, integrity, negotiation, and collaboration skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
