What are the responsibilities and job description for the PLM Specialist position at GKN Aerospace Inc?
As a Centre of Excellence (CoE) PLM Specialist, you will act as a skilled and knowledgeable team member whose role is to provide the business global PLM support and deliver best practices around the design and implementation of PLM applications and solutions in line with the business requirements.
The CoE Engineering IT forms part of the wider IT applications team, an integral part of the global IT organization. You will be a trusted partner to the business in providing PLM applications and solutions, working alongside the IT business partners, project management office, security and IT operations teams.
- Provide application support within Siemens PLM Portfolio and surrounding integrations.
- Responsible for installation of Siemens Teamcenter and configuration of TC Server. Initial configuration and administration of TC Database.
- Responsible for configuring Teamcenter application as per the business requirements and deploy solutions
- Support acceptance testing for customizations and application releases.
- System Validation testing as well as maintenance of test cases
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to transfer business needs to solutions.
- Coordinate the resolution of product issues with software vendors.
- Authoring and ownership of functional specification documentation
- Support users located at various sites across Europe, US and Asia
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing and administering Siemens PLM environments.
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree alternatively equivalent knowledge gained through experience
- In depth knowledge of TeamCenter Installation procedure
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server Administration
- Ability to build new environments, client configuration etc. Preferably for both TC and NX.
- Windows Server basics - scripts, etc knowledge.
- Programming Skills C, C , C# and JAVA desirable
- English in speech and writing
