Job Summary
A Biologist is needed with strong technical skills to conduct studies to evaluate product safety and conduct insect bioassays to characterize activity of insecticidal compounds following GLP procedures.
Job Description
- Conduct insect bioassays to characterize activity of insecticidal compounds following GLP procedures.
- Receipt, maintenance and inventory of insect colonies, diets and other lab materials using appropriate electronic systems.
- Maintenance of agricultural crops in growth chambers/greenhouses.
- Provide quality control support for data and reports.
- Ensure general lab/equipment maintenance.
- Support additional lab activities as needed.
Skills Required
- A fundamental background in related areas of environmental biology, such as entomology or toxicology.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic team-based environment, strong basic laboratory skills, including pipetting and solution making, familiarity with aseptic technique, electronic data systems, attention to detail and strong writing skills.
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices is a plus.
Education/Training/Certifications
- BS/MS Biologist (or at least 2 years lab assay experience)
