About the Position

Glatfelter Underwriting Services, a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is seeking a Summer Intern to join our Underwriting team. The internship will introduce you to the world of property and casualty insurance underwriting. Under supervision, this position will work on projects integral to the company's underwriting success.  You'll expand your problem-solving expertise, your time management and communication skills.  The day-to-day tasks may include:    

• Shadowing underwriters and underwriting assistants to learn workflow processes and job functions 
• Assisting with completion of monthly reports used to measure underwriting metrics 
• Assisting with the refresh and reorganization of training materials, procedures, and other department documents.  
• Attending underwriting and sales meetings  

Through our internship process, Glatfelter continues our proud tradition of community involvement. Our summer interns will be immersed in Glatfelter’s culture, included in shadowing and networking events, and enriched through career development seminars.
 

What We’re Looking For

A college Junior or Senior who is pursuing a business related major.

Achievement of a 3.0 or higher-grade point average

Someone who has the ability to work 30 hours per week, in a hybrid schedule from our York office location.  Starting May 28th, until August.

Someone who is looking for a career in Insurance is preferred.
