Job Summary
The On-Site Maintenance Technician is responsible for care, maintenance, housekeeping, and improvement of one dedicated facility, while assisting other Maintenance Technicians as needed.
Essential Job Duties
- Maintain facility appearance to include but not limited to the exterior of all buildings including but not limited to: parking areas, sidewalks, seasonal salting and clean up as needed to prevent slips, trips, and falls (etc.), interior hallways, and other areas as needed or specified. Perform housekeeping duties such as, but not limited to mopping/vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms, removing biohazard bags, changing sharps containers, etc. as needed. Inspect and clean as needed all bathrooms and lunch room twice daily, and vacuum/clean the pharmacy twice weekly.
- Responsible for infection control as it relates to combatting contagious diseases. Perform general and specific inspections of a dedicated facility, make assessments, and formulate a plan for maintenance action. Perform preventive building maintenance duties, detect malfunction and needed repair. Document according to specific reporting and document tools.
- Process work orders and assigned duties with professionalism and diligence. Perform routine painting, carpentry work, caulking of windows etc.; routine plumbing repairs such as but not limited to unstopping toilets, urinals, sinks, ; perform routine electrical maintenance such as but not limited to, repair fixtures (i.e. wall fixtures, outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs, tubes, ballast, sockets etc.)
- Repair or replace defective part or equipment using appropriate tools and processes. Follow all stated and/or trained safety policies and procedures as directed. Operate all tools and necessary equipment associated with making repairs or replacing equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, following all related instruction and/or guidelines.
- Meeting room prep/clean up specific to their dedicated site, as needed based on conference room use. Reconfigure building workspace to include but not limited to: installation, positioning and work with modular office equipment, stationary office space (i.e. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, file cabinets etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various tools and moving equipment etc. Work as a team member with other key staff in the setup, configuration, specific needs and other support as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, GED.
- Licensure: Valid MI Chauffer’s Driver’s License required. Must maintain a “cleared” status with the MVR to meet GLBHC’s standards for driving company vehicles.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in facility/grounds maintenance and housekeeping.
