What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Gleason?

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT  Perform day-to-day activities of the accounting department including preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting in supporting internal and external audits, and preparing the annual budget.Responsibilities:Ensure general ledger integrity by ensuring proper classification of transactionsPerform month end close process timely and accurately and prepare monthly and quarterly report packagesDevelop annual budget and related report packageDocument all fixed asset purchases and disposals and maintain capital expenditure forecastsResponsible for Rockford bank accounts including petty cash; wire and file sending; and all bank reconciliationsMonitoring of company credit card accounts and recording expenses via journal entryEnsure accurate standard costs are used (material, labor, and overhead rates)Accurate and timely completion of and response to corporate tax, finance, and accounting as well as external auditors' requests and inquiries including annual on-site inventory auditManage inventory cycle count and physical inventory programsManage and reconcile inter-company purchases, sales, and commissions with other Gleason subsidiariesProvide support with special project analysis, when neededEvaluate various accrual balances and make adjustment recommendationsConduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenanceFile monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns for multiple statesMonitor and manage slow moving and obsolete inventoryReview daily, weekly, and monthly SAP report to ensure accurate costs and salesPerform other work-related duties as requested or requiredMay be required to work some holidays or other days the business is closed Education / Experience:Bachelor's (or advanced) Degree in AccountingFive or more years experience in accounting in a manufacturing environmentCMA preferredSkills:Experience with Microsoft Office; intermediate level experience with ExcelAble to master ERP (SAP) Training and working schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. WHY JOIN OUR TEAM? We provide a career that offers work / life balance.
