Traffic - Coal (New York, NY) FLSA Status: Exempt
We are looking for a motivated Traffic Team Member to join our Coal team in New York City. This position offers you the opportunity to develop into a frontline operations role within the commodity business, looking after the coordination and daily operations with the global Glencore team and external parties involved.
Position Responsibilities:
End to end management of all aspects of commodity trade operations, which includes, but is not limited to, the below:
- Logistics: Managing the transport of coal globally, this includes working with service providers along the global logistics chain (including ports, sea freight operators and warehouses)
- Contracts: Working with our legal team to issue purchase and sale contracts
- Payments and Letters of Credit (L/Cs): Handling payments via telegraphic transfer or L/Cs
- Customers: Daily contact with our global customers to ensure the smooth execution of purchase and sale contracts
- Independent surveyors: Working with independent surveyors to ensure quality control
- Traders and our global regional offices: Working with our traders and our global regional offices to ensure the execution of sale and purchase contracts
- The role is 100% office based (little or no travel is expected)

Compensation:
- This position can expect between $75-95K annual salary. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
