OVERVIEW:
Glenmede’s Center for Family Philanthropy and Wealth Education (CFPWE, “The Center”), operating as a part of Glenmede Private Wealth, delivers tailored philanthropic advisory and administration services, coupled with holistic wealth education. We work with individuals and families to support their legacies in three primary areas:
Philanthropic Advice: We guide our clients in developing and implementing long-term giving strategies that bring their values and philanthropic goals to life.
Philanthropic Administration: We simplify the day-to-day details of clients’ philanthropic giving strategies through organizational support, tax preparation, charitable trust administration, and more.
Family Wealth Education: We work with families to support their learning, both with current and next generation wealth stewards. Areas of focus range from developing a general understanding of wealth and investment management to more complex topics such as generational transitions and managing a family’s legacy.
The primary function of the CFPWE's Management Associate is to assist and support designated Relationship Managers in client service, relationship management, account administration, compliance requirements, and other functions as required to ensure excellent relationships with philanthropic private wealth clients, family foundation trustees, donor-advised fund holders, external professional advisors and internal business partners as well as success with firm wide initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Account Administration and Advice. Develop a strong knowledge of all aspects of philanthropic advisory functions, policies, procedures, and best practices. Support relationship managers in the administration of trust and investment management accounts for family foundations and the Glenmede Donor-Advised Fund program. Become a subject matter expert on all aspects of basic administrative duties including daily transaction processing, securities transfers, cash and check requests, charitable contributions, grants and expense processing and administration, deposits, routine to moderately complex client requests, account opening, overdraft resolution, and any other functions essential to the basic management of client accounts; demonstrate the ability to perform all of these duties with minimal oversight. Coordinate with Securities Operations and other business partners until transactions or matters are resolved to full completion.
Relationship Management and Client Service. Independently handle certain complex to moderately complex client (internal and/or external clients) inquiries as part of relationship management team. Respond to client requests or proactively identify potential issues in the normal course of business, undertake research or take needed action to resolve (with guidance from senior officers where appropriate) and keep all relevant parties informed. Provide administrative support to senior officers and cover situations that arise when other team members are out of the office. Act as initial point of contact for client and internal communications, manage information flow, prioritize needs, assist with and draft communications, as required. Prepare presentation material for meetings and coordinate with investment, tax, or other departments to ensure deadlines are met. Plan and coordinate all aspects of client meetings and participate in client meetings where appropriate.
Complex Analysis, Advanced Administration and Project Initiatives. Review relevant documents and prepare trust and account summaries, prepare cash flows and other financial and specialized reports, understand and implement special asset policies and procedures, and develop foundational knowledge in philanthropic advisory and administration best practices and charitable tax and fiduciary matters, including back-office services and grants management for private foundations and support to the donor-advised fund program. Participate in special projects and firm-wide initiatives to foster understanding of multidisciplinary wealth, sustainable and impact investing, and charitable vehicle management practice areas, to effectuate effective working relationships with colleagues and peers, and to develop presentation skills.
Firm-building. Assist and train others, as needed, and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Active engagement in department-specific and firm-wide initiatives in order to expand capabilities, create solutions to unmet business needs, improve client experience, or develop more efficient processes. Ability and willingness to contribute to the advancement of team, office and business capabilities.
