What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time PE teacher position at Glenoaks Christian Elementary?
· maintain a classroom atmosphere that is conducive to learning and is faith-filled.
· use the best professional efforts and skills to perform the duties in a diligent, energetic, competent, and ethical manner.
· apply Christian values when interacting with the principal, colleagues, students, parents, staff, and all others contacts at or on behalf of Glenoaks Christian Elementary.
· dress professionally and appropriately at all times.
· show enthusiasm and demonstrate thorough knowledge of all subject matter being taught.
· door must remain open when the teacher is alone with a child.
· establish clear and consistent class rules and fair discipline policies.
· supervise student at all times. Student may not be asked to sit outside of the class or be left unattended.
· thoroughly plan and prepare for each class.
· create academic scope and sequence aligned with the California State Standards and Common Core.
· provide a class syllabus with detailed information outlining your class.
· manage class webpage with current information available to parents and visitors.
· maintain clean and organized classroom atmosphere.
· accommodate students with different learning styles, needs, and disabilities.
· diligently and promptly review and evaluate each student’s work.
· be prompt with grading and providing parents/guardians with the child’s weekly progress.
· confer with students, parents/guardians, and administration regarding each student’s progress on a regular basis.
· maintain confidentiality on sensitive and private matters.
· is readily available to students and parents after school hours if needed.
· keep a daily journal noting daily incidences. These journal entries must be submitted for a review on a weekly basis.
· be prompt and meet all the deadlines for submitting report cards, lesson plans, journals, and other assignments requested.
· continue to enhance professional knowledge based through research, current events, and participating in workshops and classes.
· actively participate and support school-wide functions and activities during and after regular school hours.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
