Job Summary
The GLG Tax Team is looking for a highly motivated, skilled tax professional to join our in-house tax team. The Manager will be a key member of the tax team, responsible for the day-to-day operations, including the accuracy and timeliness of compliance and tax reporting matters. This position will support direct and indirect tax compliance and tax accounting matters for GLG’s global operations.
The role interfaces with partners across the organization, including the Accounting, Treasury, HR, Finance, and Legal teams to optimize exiting processes, solve business challenges, design new workflows, and implement new technology solutions to drive efficient and accurate reporting. You will be responsible for strengthening relationships with third party advisors. You will be a critical member in the development of an adaptive Tax department that continues to scale to support GLG’s growth goals.
This role will have a direct report and must be able to effectively delegate tasks while ensuring the compliance with all reporting requirements. The role will report into the Director of Tax.

Primary responsibilities include:
- Responsible for preparation of the consolidated worldwide income tax provision, including maintaining related tax account balances, uncertain tax provision accruals and releases, and financial statement presentation and disclosures;
- Prepare documentation of ASC 740 tax positions;
- Maintain control environment by adhering to requirements and updating documentation;
- Develop strong relationships with Accounting department to maximize opportunities for automation of data and ensure completeness, accuracy, and efficiency;
- Collaborate with Accounting and FP&A departments on tax reporting matters;
- Manage an internal compliance calendar and facilitate the preparation, review, and timely filing of the Company’s income and indirect tax returns;
- Prepare workpapers necessary to support the preparation of domestic and international income tax filings;
- Coordinate timing and inputs for return filings with third party service provider;
- Review all domestic and international direct and indirect tax filings prepared by third party provider for accuracy and completeness;
- Manage relationship with external advisors supporting the tax function;
- Liaison with Accounts Payable to settle payments;
- Calculate quarterly taxable income and ensure accurate and timely filing/remittance of extension and estimate payments;
- Lead U.S. withholding tax process workflow;
- Prepare monthly and quarterly transfer pricing computations;
- Prepare monthly sales tax filings and identify required sales tax registrations;
- Ensure accurate, timely filing of all business-related filings, including franchise, property and commercial rent tax returns;
- Manage, investigate and resolve notices from domestic and international tax authorities;
- Manage and facilitate income and sales tax audits, including preparing audit ready support and communicating with auditors to resolve;
- Identify and implement technological and procedural improvements with a strong commitment to detail;
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and communicate the effects of these developments;
- Understand and conduct research on tax issues to support inquiries from the business;
- Assist in other general tax projects, as needed.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field;
- At least five (5) years of experience in a corporate tax function and/or a public accounting/tax advisory firm;
- CPA required;
- Experience in OneStream (preferred);
- Experience in ASC 740 and tax related financial reporting;
- Exposure to U.S. international tax concepts, including GILTI, FDII, BEAT and foreign tax credits;
- Exposure to global transfer pricing rules;
- Excellent project management skills with proactive approach towards driving qualify results;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization and articulate complex information;
- Strong research skills;
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in a fast-paced environment with small team.
