Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Training will be responsible for implementing the vision and strategy for organizational training. Specifically, you will be responsible for the tactical execution and leading a team who will problem solve and create solutions that support the development, life skills learning, and career tracking opportunities across the organization. Through your efforts, you will track and analyze organizational needs to ensure there is high-quality training, career development/ growth, and substantive resources for our managers and union employees, (whether in-person, external, or virtually). Reporting into this role will a training team of three staff.

Core Responsibilities:- Support the CHRO with creating the roadmap for the training team that they are integrated with HR’s workflow processes, onboarding activity and department initiatives.
- Partner with CHRO on strategic initiatives as it relates to onboarding, creating training and professional growth for staff.
- Establish short and long-term plans for comprehensive leadership development strategies and programs to support GLIDES’s growth, focusing on supporting our new leaders and preparing our line staff for leadership positions.
- Proactively work with leadership and program teams to lead the execution of our professional development and training roadmap, so that learning and skill gaps, across departments are addressed.
- Support CHRO with your thought partnership and innovative ideas to create learning and development resources (whether via the LMS or externally) for staff.
- Support the training team with cultivating relationships with outside facilitators to provide targeted trainings for staff (skill based, DEI, or program specific).
- Ensure our internal resources and opportunities for learning and development are documented and distributed in a timely fashion.
- Ensure all levels of management participate in and support the development of the onboarding process so that our culture, retention strategy and compliance objectives are prioritized.
- Lead and seamlessly connect our organizational goals and defined competencies into our performance management process, so that target dates and merit increases are performed timely.
- Support and train all staff with creating and tracking SMART goals in our learning management system (establishing goal-setting measures, identifying skill gaps and successful outcomes)
- Oversees, manage, and evaluate the annual review and LMS vendor relationship; perform a cost benefit analysis of current services provided and monitors our ROI.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience: - Demonstrated ability to develop content for training through research (both within the organization and externally).
- Experience with establishing and measuring L&D program effectiveness based on impact, knowledge and behavior change.
- Organized, process-oriented, and efficient while being adaptable to changing priorities and competing deadlines.
- Hands-on experience facilitating, leading and engaging managers/leaders on training initiatives and resources.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms or systems (Cornerstone, Bamboo, or SAP Litmos).
- Must have direct supervisory experience, with excellent written, oral communication skills.
- Must have project management experience (prioritizing, tracking and managing competing priorities and deadlines).
