Associate, Compliance

POSITION OVERVIEW

Global Atlantic is seeking a Compliance Associate to join the Compliance team in Brighton, MA or Hartford, CT. This role will be responsible for supporting both the Reinsurance Compliance and Investment Compliance teams and conducting compliance testing across multiple lines of business within Global Atlantic. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting periodic testing of key business policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations
• Preparing formal reports summarizing test results and recommended opportunities for enhancement
• Assisting the firm in developing and implementing policies and procedures across reinsurance and investment compliance landscape
• Periodic review and maintenance of policies, procedures, risk assessments and key risk indicators
• Developing successful working relationships with Global Atlantic’s Reinsurance and Investment Business, Technology and Operational associates as well as Third Party Administrators
• Periodic reviewing and processing of identified Reinsurance Compliance and Investment Compliance tasks
• Performing or overseeing the following additional responsibilities:
  • Corporate training plan, including the launch and follow-up of mandatory compliance trainings
  • Corporate policy and procedure development, monitoring, and follow-up
  • Investment allocation and guideline monitoring
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum (2) years of legal and/or compliance-related experience preferred
• Awareness of reinsurance and investment processes
• Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities and work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently while maintaining strict attention to detail
• Capacity to consider, process and filter large amounts of complex information quickly and identify appropriate actions in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Strong commitment to culture of accountability, collaboration and teamwork
• Strong work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability 
• Effective prioritization of multiple tasks and willingness and initiative to seek out and take on increasing responsibilities
• Highly organized, attention to detail and the ability to convey written and orally in a concise manner
• Identification and appropriate escalation of issues, and development of solutions

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications. Global Atlantic has offices in Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted below is inclusive of the lowest cost of living geography to the highest in which we have a Global Atlantic office. 

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $76,205 to $145,152.
