GCS is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Environmental Data Entry Technicians. This role is crucial in processing and managing environmental data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data entry, familiarity with environmental data, and experience with GIS platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Input, update, and review data in the database with high accuracy and efficiency.
2. Translate and process digital files into formats suitable for database entry.
3. Perform quality control checks on entered data, including verification of feature records and site records.
4. Utilize GIS platforms to ensure accurate georeferencing of spatial data.
5. Assist in generating digital map products using the GIS platform.
6. Collaborate with the Task Manager and GCS team members to resolve data inconsistencies and improve overall data quality.
7. Participate in peer review processes to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
8. Assist in developing and implementing data cleaning protocols.
9. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of documentation for data improvement processes.
10. Engage in ongoing training to stay current with environmental data management and GIS technologies.

Required Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in data entry, preferably with environmental or scientific data.
2. Proficiency in database management systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
3. Experience with GIS software, preferably ESRI ArcGIS.
4. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
5. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage large volumes of data.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
7. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with environmental databases.
2. Experience with optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
3. Familiarity with quality control processes in data management.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to sit and operate a computer for extended periods.
2. Visual acuity to review detailed data and work with GIS applications.
