Warehouse Forklift Operator / Material Handler

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight
• Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack, forklift and by hand
• Operate forklift to move freight into and out of the warehouse

• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
• Work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments
• Assist in inventory control procedures (e.g. cycle counting) for all finished product.
• Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods of time
• Select orders, packs, and dispatches outgoing goods according to written or verbal orders and enters data into a database or other computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock and inventory records. Properly prepares shipments, loads vehicles, and prepares necessary documentation for all shipments.
• Ensure that correct security procedures are observed in handling of finished product, shipments, paperwork, and general freight movement into and out of the warehouse.
• Unload containers that have up too 3,000 cases of products, palletize, and stock away on racks for inventory purposes
• Pick and pack orders with numerous SKUs (products) for orders to go out via a palletized order
• Track all inventory on a daily/weekly/month FIFO basis
• Rotate new incoming inventory with existing inventory (FIFO basis)
• Be able to work under pressure during busy season
• Perform other duties related to shipping, receiving, minor maintenance, or other duties as required by the supervisor.

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating a Forklift

• Minimum 2 years of experience dock/warehouse
• Minimum 2 years of experience loading and unloading trailers

• Ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Desire to succeed with a strong attention to detail

This job requires the ability to:

• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently and greater than 70 lbs. occasionally)
• Sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including a pallet jack, forklift and by hand
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Warehouse experience: 1 year (Preferred)
