Job Title: SITE HSE Lead (Solar)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Global Edge is an award-winning recruitment agency connecting projects worldwide with the industry’s most talented project professionals. Our team is currently recruiting a Site HSE Lead to support the Standard Plants Product Line (SPPL), leading bidding activities in the Americas region.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Provide overall leadership, coordination and facilitation of HSE activities for the project through all construction activities to deliver against TERUSA Expectations and ensure Operations Readiness. This will include (but not limited to):
· Facilitate root cause investigations of incidents
· Conduct documented HSE site inspections
· Ensure EPC contractor and subcontractors are following contractual HSE requirements
· Monitor and report HSE Performance during construction. This includes establishing KPIs, monitor statistics, analyze trends and propose and take remedial action if HSE targets are not met and when necessary.
· Review HSE management systems - Philosophy, Plans and Procedures – from the EPC Contractors, for ensuring that Project HSE policies and procedures are properly implemented and achieved on the Project, for maintaining functional links with TERUSA HSE Division and for ensuring that the safety reviews are conducted in a timely and proper manner to comply with Project HSE targets
· Coordinate/Assist with Emergency Response activities for the project Site
· Coordinate HSE activities within the Project Group
· Communicate HSE matters to project management
· Supervise and keep records for area specific HSE audits, reports, certifications, permits, etc.
Technical Responsibilities:
· Minimum Experience: 10 years’ experience in the construction industry, previous experience on solar farm construction projects preferred.
· Directly responsible for management of compliance to regulations related to the Site, and responsible for interfacing with the Contractors to verify compliance of the facility
· Identification, mitigation, and reduction of hazards on Site
· Ensure daily liaison with contractor(s) and manage their performance with regards to contract requirements
· Participate in all necessary meetings with contractors (weekly progress meeting, monthly status meetings, technical meetings, pre-job planning meetings, etc.)
· Follow up equipment testing activities (Commissioning) performed by contractor(s)
Interfaces:
· Provide effective leadership in identification and resolution of internal and external interfaces with HSE perimeters, including in particular interfaces with quality, regulatory, and technical disciplines.
· Provide input as necessary to regulatory and TERUSA documentation required for Permitting / Licensing related to HSE matters.
· Train, monitor and coach employees / contractors to improve skill level to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards of HSE processes in a reliable and cost-effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Degree in a safety related field
· HSE Management, Principles and Programs – expert level of knowledge and experience;
· Incident investigations and root cause analysis – expert level of knowledge and experience;
· Electrical Safety (AC/DC) – expert level of knowledge and experience
· OSHA, EPA, Drug & Alcohol – proficient level of knowledge;
· Safe working practice on construction projects – proficient level of knowledge and experience;
· Company rules/procedures - proficient level of knowledge and experience;
· Proficient organizational ability and commitment to meeting deadlines;
· Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
· Strong communication;
· Team worker capable of working autonomously;
· CSP Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to travel to project sites and walk around the location, outdoors
· Language Requirements: Fluent English required, Spanish would be a plus
