What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Kids Micro Intern position at Global Kids?
Micro Internship Student Contract
The Micro Internship allows students to participate in a brief (2-3 weeks), employer-led project that supports the real work of the organization.
Students will commit to:
1. Completing all internship/project deliverables including signed timesheet
2. Attending closing session (Tentatively May 6, 2022 1:45pm)
3. Devoting at least 3-5 hours per week on project duties and assignments
4. Completing a reflective essay at the end of the micro internship
5. Maintaining confidentiality of employer/site information
6. Contacting the Associate Director for Experiential Learning (Katheryn Crawford) when it is felt that challenges that are disrupting the intern's performance.
Employers will commit to:
1. Providing adequate supervision for projects
2. Signing off on completed projects
3. Contacting the Micro Internship Specialist when it is felt that problems are disrupting the intern's performance.
4. List 3-5 skills students will develop by completing this project (ex., writing, excel, problem solving):
Organizational Skills,
Communication Skills
Professional Development Skills
Please note that incomplete projects may delay or forfeit a stipend. Unfinished projects can include:
1. Missing timesheets
2. Missing employer approval of projects
3. Unsatisfactory employer evaluation
4. Failure to complete project deliverables
