What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP of Communications position at Global Partners LP?

The Vice President of Communications will be responsible for leading Global's internal and external communications, working to protect and advance Global's reputation across markets, and leading a team in the development and implementation of communications strategies that support the broader business objectives. This person will leverage their dynamic experience executing corporate communication strategies, engaging with media, and leading teams to partner closely with senior leaders to develop and execute communications plans and provide strategic counsel on critical issues. The Vice President of Communications requires superior business acumen, proactive analytical and problem-solving skills, and a demonstrated ability to implement new solutions and continuous improvement programs.

"Gauges" of Responsibility -

* Corporate Communications
* Develop communications and PR strategy to support company's growth plans, enhance company reputation and elevate brand across media outlets, publications, and industry outlets.
* Build and establish crisis communication processes to address potential challenges that may arise.
* Manage complex external communications initiatives that intersect culture and corporate responsibility.
* Develop company thought leadership strategies.
* Oversee corporate public facing assets, including website(s) and corporate social media.
* Work collaboratively to communicate around company initiatives, including but not limited to; ESG, transformation, acquisitions, innovation initiatives, etc.
* Lead the company's media strategy. Proactively build media relationships and respond to inquiries, as needed.
* Advance strategic communications plan focused on communicating the company's identity and brand consistently.
* Activate Global's vision and mission, as well as lead the development and implementation of short- and long-term strategic, operational, and plans and calendar.
* Develop, implements, and adhere to communications budget.
* Internal Communications
* Work collaboratively and cross functionally to develop internal communication strategies that support the company strategy and initiatives ultimately improving internal collaboration and employee engagement.
* Support the corporate brand transformation efforts by building advocacy internally through change communications, executive communications, and business unit storytelling and other communications efforts, helping to create excitement for the future and a sense of unity across all business lines.
* Develop recommendations on ambassador-building tactics, to bring all team members along in the journey.
* Integrate communication and change management plans; ensure associate feedback is incorporated into the go-forward strategy.
* Identify gaps in communication processes and proactively develop communications solutions to increase understanding and adoption.
* Provide strategic leadership for communications function.

Qualifications

* Exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication skills, along with excellent writing and editing skills.
* Ability to write about complex concepts in easy-to-understand language and distill messaging to reach a diverse internal and external audience.
* Experience with a broad range of campaigns, from grassroots to regional.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media.
* Experience managing both digital and traditional media channels.
* Ability to knit together cross-functional opportunities and relationships.
* Self-starter with ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision or guidance.
* Ability to work across multiple functions to include, but not limited to, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations and Legal.
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to navigate through ambiguous situations with little direction.
* A demonstrated ability to earn the trust of all levels of employees and management.
* Ability to lead a team effectively by driving work output, performance and promoting a positive and nurturing work culture.
* Proven ability to deliver results, effectively influencing decisions through strong leadership skills.
* Proven commitment to confidentiality, integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
* Works under pressure while exercising good judgement and handles conflict and resolves uncomfortable situations with peers, and direct reports with tact and diplomacy.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Excellent computer and analytical skills required, with the ability to achieve metrics-driven outcomes.
