CNC programmer Job description
Duties:
Seeking quality minded production driven person with proven CNC leadership skills to lead a growing CNC department.
Must be capable of writing and editing part programs for multi-axis CNC machines with bar loaders
Must be able to teach part programming, tooling offsets, tooling touch off, machine operation procedures and machine setups
Read and interpret part prints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations
Utilizes CAM programming software as needed to generate machining programs
Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and efficiency
Measure and inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
Must have sufficient mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical knowledge to PM CNC department machines and assist maintenance department with repairs
Qualifications:
5 years of proven CNC programming and setup experience in a diversified shop
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of machining principles
Proficiency in part print reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Experience with CAM programming software for CNC machines
Must a team player with excellent communication skills
Willingness and ability to accept new challenges contributing to projected growth
Basic math skills for calculations and measurements
Must have dependable transportation
