The Production Manager oversees and manages all aspects of the production process. Their primary focus is to ensure the efficient and compliant production of high-quality products, meeting production targets, and maintaining a safe and productive working environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production Planning and Execution:
- Develop production schedules, ensuring optimal utilization of resources while meeting product demand and inventory requirements.
- Monitor production progress, addressing any delays or issues to maintain production efficiency.
Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure production activities comply with CGMP, NDA regulations, and other relevant quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to implement quality systems and address any quality-related concerns.
Manufacturing Processes and Equipment:
Batch Preparation:
- Ensure the accurate preparation of batches in accordance with Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and daily production plans.
- CIP SIP Performance: Oversee the proper execution of Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Sterilization-in-Place (SIP) procedures on tanks and ensure general maintenance activities are carried out following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Filter Testing:
- Take charge of conducting bubble point tests and water intrusion tests on filters, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to maintain quality standards
Safety and Environmental Compliance:
- Promote a culture of safety, ensuring that production activities comply with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Implement environmental policies and procedures to minimize environmental impact.
Personnel Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors and operators.
- Provide training and support to enhance employees' technical skills and knowledge.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives in the production area.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Inventory and Material Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products, coordinating with the supply chain team to ensure adequate supply.
- Optimize material usage and minimize waste during production processes.
Production Performance Metrics:
- Track and analyze production performance metrics, such as production yield, efficiency, and downtime.
- Prepare production reports and provide regular updates to the Head of Manufacturing.
Production Budget and Cost Control:
- Develop and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective production operations.
- Identify areas for cost reduction while maintaining product quality and compliance.
Production Projects and Initiatives:
- Participate in production-related projects and initiatives to enhance manufacturing capabilities and capacity.
