GSE seeks a Superintendent to coordinate, plan, and supervise subcontractors and/or craft activities ensuring adherence to plans and specifications, enforcing site safety and providing contractor quality control.


A day in the life (a general sampling of the things you may do in a given day):

  • Supervise all on-site construction operations
  • Ensure the proper performance of all subcontractors in both quality and timeliness of their work
  • Requires inputting and receiving requests using the Facilities Integration Tool (FIT).
  • Perform and coordinate all duties in conjunction with the duties of the Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager
  • Perform all project start-up and close-out activities
  • Thoroughly understand, organize, and maintain all project contract documents on a regular basis
  • Assist the Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager with preparation of the project construction schedule in conjunction with input from the required Subcontractor
  • Manage the schedule to timely and successful completion
  • Coordinate implementation of the final project budget with the Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager
  • Co-conduct a Subcontractor pre-construction meeting with the Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager to review all project-specific requirements
  • Identify and resolve all on-site project-specific issues in conjunction with the Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager and escalate the necessary issues up to the appropriate person
  • Enforce all required on-site Quality Control procedures
  • Enforce all required on-site Safety procedures
  • Manages and administers material logistics procedures
  • Executes project-tracking and schedule system
  • Works effectively with clients, subcontractors, SSHO, Estimators, QC Manager and Project Engineer
  • Other duties as assigned


What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):

  • Prefer individuals with a degree focused in construction management, building construction, engineering, construction science, or architecture
  • Superintendent shall have minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in job order contract type tasks, handle multiple job orders at the same time, maintain cost, schedule, and risk levels in accordance with industry and Governmental standards.
  • Experienced in multi-skill trade integration for project completion and communicating project status to the PM and the Government.
  • Federal experience highly preferred
  • Maintain a Top-Secret Clearance
  • The ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • The ability to work a varied schedule based on project/company needs
  • A valid driver’s license – Clean driving record required
  • Ability to gain access to military job sites
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 50lbs
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
