The Facility Operations Lead is part of BOSK’s newly constructed electric vehicle battery manufacturing plant. This is a performance-based, -year, O&M contract providing hard services of MEP equipment within the facility, excluding the manufacturing and production equipment.
The objective is to maintain a seamless environment by assuring that equipment is performing to specifications to facilitate uninterrupted manufacturing.
The ideal candidate will have strong maintenance / hands-on technical experience and a leadership background.
The role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance activities of the chiller facility. This includes managing a team of technicians, coordinating and prioritizing work orders, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, and general servicing of chiller systems (including detailed troubleshooting of systems).
Performs a variety of repairs and services in a specialized building system environment with a high emphasis on HVAC, Mechanical Systems, and building maintenance.
Working knowledge of Electrical / Electronic Client, and other similar types of related equipment and low voltage systems is a PLUS.
How you will do it
- Supervise and provide guidance to a team of facilities technicians, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing feedback and coaching.
- Coordinate and prioritize work orders and maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and efficient use of resources.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime.
- Accomplishing repairs for HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and building automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards and promote a culture of safety among the team.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment repairs, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with external contractors to coordinate and schedule maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to continuously improve facility operations.
- Service, Repair, Maintain, Monitor and Adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters.
- Provides direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists.
- Plans, selects, and lays out required materials for service, repair, and preventive maintenance work.
- Works from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operates a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.
- Requisitions new supplies and equipment.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Is required to participate in an on-call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations at the facility.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
What we look for
Required :
- Requires two-year technical degree or two years’ experience as an Operations & Maintenance Specialist, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
- Proven experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or a related field, with at least years in a supervisory role.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.
- Knowledge of the following trades / skills : electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Working on mission critical projects
- Knowledge of OSHA codes and regulations
- Working knowledge of Metasys (Client) and low voltage control systems.
- Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to : climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to lbs., etc.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends, holidays, and special maintenance events as needed.
- Required to use a variety of hand and power tools or man lift.
- Requires Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification.
- May be required to possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check and subject interview.
