Opportunity: The Regional Manager will lead Global Water’s family of water utilities in Pima County, Arizona from the Company’s Sahuarita office. Primary Duties:
Directs and oversees multidisciplinary operations, maintenance, and customer service team responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, compliance, and service of Global Water’s regional utilities.
Facilitates cross functional coordination with various departments to include the project management office, water resources, environmental resources, accounting, regulatory affairs, development services to ensure safe and reliable operation of regional utilities.
Regularly attends and represents Global Water Resources at regional municipality council meetings, chambers of commerce, utility coordination meetings, community stakeholder events, economic development groups, and other public forums and civic interaction events.
Develops and implements policies and procedures to achieve goals and objectives in line with Global Water’s vision, mission, and core values.
Develop, recommend, and update multi-year capital improvement plan specific to regional utilities.
Ensures continual compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirement in coordination with the environmental resources department.
In coordination with the Vice President and General Manager, develops and executes regional priorities, goals, and objectives.
Administers regional budget by preparing annual utility budget, reviewing and approving requisitions, and monitoring regional expenditures.
Write reports, memos, and give presentations for the management team, local municipal leaders, regulators, customers, and community stakeholders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and operating requirements of a water utilities; financial management; and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of principles of management, administration, leadership, supervision, and training.
Strength in both followership and leadership; team and individual work.
Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and concepts.
Strong inclination towards advanced technological systems.
Experience with SCADA systems.
Strong data collection, testing, analytical, and presentation skills.
Strong command of MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Access)
Strong verbal/written communication skills (including group presentation and status reporting)
Outstanding organizational, coordination, and planning skills
Experience in finding, reading, interpreting, and adhering to local, state, and federal regulations
Experience in fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environments
Experience in a physical, field working environment
Minimum Requirements
Education or Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering or related field, with major coursework in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering. Experience in planning, budgeting, operating, and maintaining water and wastewater infrastructure in a highly automated environment. Must obtain Grade 2 State of Arizona water treatment and water distribution certifications within one year of employment.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting technical reports and memos and public speaking and presentations.
Social Skills: Must act in a respectful, knowledgeable, and professional manner. Work requires regular interaction involving exchange and receipt of complex information; adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions; trying to reconcile differences; actively looking for ways to help people and Global Water be successful. Will interact with employees at all levels and represent Global Water externally.
Physical Demands: Must be able to perform the following on a regular basis: Sitting for extended periods; prolonged periods of time with repetitive motions of hands and fingers; close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty pounds. Work is performed in an office and outdoors where the employee may be exposed to noise from construction site heavy equipment and inclement weather.
