Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries Fab 10 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated technician to become part of our state-of-the-art 300mm factory in East Fishkill, New York. These positions will be required to perform characterization and process integration technician tasks in support of a Fab 10 ramp and yield improvement. This technician will work closely with device characterization engineers to first assess readiness of data and information to start analysis, and secondly to perform first-pass analysis of data using certain statistical pass-fail criteria. He or she will also engage in experiment split lot setup and execution and/or testing wafers on bench setup as work demands. Skills required are familiarity with wafer fabrication, proficiencies with computer systems, basic knowledge of statistical measures of mean and standard deviations, an attention to detail and process rigor, and a self-starter willing to engage a broad team of engineers.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting device characterization engineers with a wide variety of tasks including:
  • Manage analysis request workflow, conferring with program engineer leaders
  • Performing routine electrical data analyses under the guidance of the device and process integration engineering staff using established data analysis procedures and software
  • Communicate and align work priorities and assignments with engineering leaders
  • Communicate status of workflow with engineers and management
  • Writing and execution of experimental lot requests and then work with the engineers and factory technicians to ensure these requests are created and implemented correctly
  • Completing all required reporting and documentation
  • Training new team members as requested

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Education – AS Degree in Technology
  • Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in English Language – written & verbal
  • Strong computer proficiency to manage statistical comparisons using a multitude of software systems
  • Demonstrated general technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor fab processing, inspection, and metrology equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation
  • Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse, global team as a dedicated team player

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: 2 Year Technical/Associates Degree in Science, Math, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing or a related discipline or equivalent military training / industry prior experience
  • Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • 2 years direct experience working in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Able to work in a semiconductor manufacturing cleanroom environment
  • Detailed semiconductor process knowledge in one or more areas including Thin Films, Etch, Photolithography, Diffusion, Cleans, CMP, electrical test, analytical techniques is a plus.
  • Design-of-experiments (DOE), statistical process control (SPC) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen or other productivity improvement or problem-solving methodologies
  • Knowledge of SiView SM, SM , ECM and any route related activities.
