Software Engineer

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Develop/deploy/maintain Java-based RESTful APIs and product support applications
• Work with existing team to learn and support legacy support servers
• Keep up with industry best practices for security and apply to everyday work
• Write clean, testable code that you are confident in
• Participate in architecture/design review, code review and test case review
• Develop solutions for communicating with external devices via Bluetooth, USB/HID and UART protocols.
• Develop and package multi-platform software for Windows and macOS for end users.
• Support the Product Assurance organization during Functional Testing to ensure solutions meet technical and marketing requirements
• Work independently, effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
• Utilize tools such as Atlassian Jira, Bitbucket and Bamboo daily

Required Skills and Experience:

• BS, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
• Three years of experience in an engineering position
• Hands on Experience with:
  • Development and support of Java, Spring Boot
  • RESTful service design
  • API Security patterns and best practices
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React Native
  • GUI design and application development using IDE's like Eclipse
  • MySQL database design, management and schema definition
  • build automation tools in CI/CD pipeline software such as Bamboo
  • Generation and maintenance of Engineering technical documentation
  • Software unit testing frameworks
• Desired Experience with:
  • Agile software development frameworks
  • Android and iOS App Development
  • Linux operating systems
  • Automated test equipment at electrical, mechanical and software levels
  • Reading electronic schematics and layouts
  • SolidWorks and ability to read mechanical design drawings
  • RF Instruments such as Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers and Power Meters
• Ability to work additional hours as needed

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time
