DCC Propane, LLC, a division of DCC plc, has served communities for over 70 years providing propane for residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial uses, and water conditioning services since 1962. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to play a central role in the month-end process, continuous improvement of financial reporting and processes, internal controls, and involvement in treasury activities. In addition, the Staff Accountant will be involved in business and margin analysis to support the Regional Controller and VP of Operations in commercial management of the business.

CRITERIA FOR SUCCESS:

• Responsible for financial/accounting operations in the following areas general ledger, cash, intercompany, and accounts receivable
• Responsible for monthly processes including posting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure a timely month-end close.
• Involvement in banking and treasury policy and practice.
• Involvement in the year-end audit with external auditors.
• Financial Planning & Analysis including analyzing financial data, revenue and margin analysis, cost and internal performance benchmarking.
• Ensure compliance with respective statutes and DCC policies, including managing internal controls.
• The role will work closely with the Regional Controller to help prepare the following:
  • Weekly forecast
  • Annual Budget
  • Quarterly forecasts
  • Tax compliance (in conjunction with DCC Propane & DCC Tax)
  • Inter-company reconciliations
• Design and implement process efficiencies.
• Evaluating and managing risk.
• Work with the Regional Controller and Operations team for the division to drive the business performance including improving margin management, cost efficiencies, organic growth opportunities, and assessing bolt-on opportunities that may arise.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years of experience in finance/accounting is required.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office, particularly Excel, and financial management software. (Experience using QuickBooks is a plus)
• Good communication and influencing skills.
• An analytical mind with a strategic ability with strong curiosity and ambition to learn.
• Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.
• Must be committed to working safely at all times.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field of study
• CPA is a plus.
• Management experience (Preferred)
