Summary
This position will be responsible for examining various systems within a vehicle to diagnose and repair any issues. This entails running computerized diagnostic tests to help identify components that might be malfunctioning, interpreting Port Service Bulletins, performing mechanical inspections, running system diagnostics, and replacing/repairing defective components.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical warranty diagnostics and repairs

Makes minor repairs to engines, chassis and appurtenances of mechanical equipment.
- Make minor repairs, adjustments or replacement of parts.
- Performs minor servicing and maintenance work.
- Test electronic computer components in automobiles to ensure proper operation
- Review port upgrade program instructions prior to vehicle evaluation
- Perform vehicle testing in preparation for adjustment
- Perform Port Upgrade Programs, official service campaigns
- Testing, examination, adjusting, servicing and repairs of autos as required by KMA and HMA.
- Contributes to the success of the team, assists others and requests help when needed.
- Perform mechanical warranty diagnostics and repairs as instructed
- Professionally and courteously interact with other employees and customers concerning defects in finished products
- Respectful of tools and property used in the workplace environment.
- Organizes and implements a productive plan of work.
- Reads and interprets workplace documents; writes clearly and concisely

- Perform Port Upgrade Programs (Service Campaigns)
- Review port upgrade program instructions prior to vehicle evaluation
- Perform vehicle testing in preparation for adjustment
- Perform Port Upgrade Programs, official service campaigns
- Testing, examination, adjusting, servicing and repair of autos
- Inspect vehicles for damage and record findings so that necessary repairs can be made
- Compliance & safety
- Maintain safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.
- Review reports and observation of the efficiency of the shop
- Keep up knowledge of MSDS, EPA, and OSHA regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to drive both automatic and straight shift vehicles
- Ability to verify and record numbers 17 characters in length
- Ability to diagnose defects in automotive equipment and to apply approved techniques in remedying defects.
- Ability to make road tests and other checks of the effectiveness of the repair
- Ability to plan and direct work of subordinates, making efficient use of the labor and materials
- Ability to function within working conditions and physical requirements described above
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/G.E.Dand 2 years experience in Automotive Repair
- Associates Degree or higher and 4-7years of experience in Automotive Repair preferred
- An ASE Certification and a Valid Driver's License preferred
