Assistant Warehouse Manager

Apply for this great full-time, direct hire opportunity as an Assistant Warehouse Manager with a large client of ours in Wayne, NJ!

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a 30-minute break

Salary: $65k-$75k

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Warehouse manager with leading the associates, planning and coordination of warehouse activities (inbound, outbound, storage, order processing, and inventory controls).
  • Assist with coordinating the inbound and outbound schedules.

Ensure the following best practices:
  • Drivers sign in with ID checks.
  • Initiate best practice at receipt (skid/carton counts)
  • OS & D management
  • Space utilization and optimization
  • Proactive communications

Inventory:
  • In conjunction with Warehouse Manager, all non-transload goods are entered into WMS, labels are produced, and cargo racked within 24-48 hours of receipt. Ensure WMS scanning and adherence.

Floor Management and Inbound/Outbound Assistance:
  • Assist in coaching temporary employees.
  • Assist with timeclock management.
  • Ensure best practices are used.
  • Ensure that no goods remain on the floor.
  • Ensure full container loads are managed and devanned in proper time frames.
  • Escalate any issues to Warehouse Manager.
  • Audit pick orders.
  • Audit outbound orders.
  • Ensure safety adherence and cleanliness.
  • Other tasks/duties as assigned.
  • Forklift/Turret truck certified.
Requirements:
  • Must be Forklift or Turret truck certified.
  • Access all areas which may include ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and shipping docks safely and without limitation.
  • Walk in/and around all areas of the warehouse with great frequency.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends based on business needs.
  • Regularly bend, lift, stretch and reach both below the waist and above the head.
  • Lift and move items up to 49 pounds.
