JOB SUMMARY

GMRE is currently seeking an experienced Financial Analyst that will work closely with the Financial Controller to support the accounting functions of the Company. The ideal candidate has prior work experience in Government contracting or a related field. In addition to being well versed in job cost accounting, GMRE is seeking an individual who has comprehensive understating of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), possesses extreme attention to detail, and excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel. GMRE is open to having this position be a remote position or hybrid, working both in the office HQ located in Ogden, UT and remotely. 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Job/Project Costing - Analyze project costs/expenses for compliance with the contractual requirements and Government regulations
• Partner closely with Controller to develop indirect rate tracking and processes to better analyze, evaluate and submit Incurred Cost Submission to DCAA
• Extensive use of PROCAS Accounting, Timekeeping, and Expense Reporting Software for Government Contractors
• Uses expert proficiency of Microsoft Excel for all functions within the Accounting and Finance Department
• Create and submit contract invoices into Wide Area Workflow and other government submission platforms
• Monitor open invoices and facilitate collections through communication with payment offices to maximize positive cash flow
• Assist with monthly closing of the books to include reconciliation of all accounts, amortization of prepaid expenses, depreciation of fixed assets, posting all revenue and expenses, and other related duties as directed
• Prepare accurate daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to include Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Profit & Loss by Contract, and various others as assigned
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting
• Provide support for quarterly, annual, and periodic audit requirements
• Review Requests for Proposals (RFP) and proposal documents for compliance to customers' specifications/requirements and adherence to company policy
• Review and maintain current subcontractor insurance certificates, contracts, files, and all pertinent information
• Maintain effective communication within the workplace as well as with clients, outside vendors, subcontractors, and government agencies
• Ability to work closely with and train accounting staff
• Support special projects as requested
• Other administrative and analyst duties as assigned

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES 

• Ability to use automated financial software, electronic timekeeping and project planning software and database analytics tools. 
• Familiarity with PROCAS Accounting, Timekeeping, and Expense Reporting for Government Contractors is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with project reporting on various contract types (Fixed Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus), knowledge of timekeeping and expense reporting, accounting and financial analysis, and project management.
• Experience in defense contracting and documentation requirements (DCAA, FAR, DFARS)
• Expert level knowledge and use of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2 years of experience in government contracting or related industry in accounting required. 
• 5 years of experience in government contracting or related industry in accounting preferred. 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

• Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
