JOB SUMMARY

GMRE is seeking a full-time Project Manager (PJM) to support the programs in our Integration and Sustainment (I&S) Program Division. At GMRE, each program is assigned a Program Manager (PM) to oversee the successful execution of a program. This PJM role would support the portions of a program delegated to them by the PM. The PJM would primarily be responsible for collaborating with the functional organizations to ensure that contract deliverables are completed and submitted in accordance with the timelines defined by the PM. This PJM would be a cross-program resource but would be initially supporting the recently awarded AWACS Communication and Integration Program.


GMRE is starting to develop Program Division-specific Processes and Policies. This PJM would be responsible for supporting the I&S Program Division Director in writing, reviewing, and implementing new Processes and Policies. This would require collaborating with team members from our multi-discipline, functionally matrixed organization to ensure program is executed in compliance with company policy. 


The PJM will be responsible for partial ownership and execution authority for small portions of large, complex, multi-year programs in the I&S portfolio. The PJM will have some degrees of autonomy but will be expected to work alongside PMs and collaborate with a multi-discipline, functionally matrixed organization. The Project Manager is expected to have strong organization skills and is expected to help bring policy-backed organization and discipline to the growing I&S Program Division.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with functional managers and matrixed team members as assigned, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Contracts, and Finance
  • Ensure execution team meets program objectives and milestones 
  • Provide inputs to, and provide periodic maintenance of, the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Assist in analysis of Earned Value Management metrics 
  • Collaborate with PMO and Finance on setting program financial budgets and goals
  • Monitor labor budgets against actual costs for entire program team (20 employees)
  • Monitor material budgets against actual costs
  • Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships, to include attending weekly IPT meetings and Monthly/ Quarterly PMRs
  • Ensure on-time delivery of program deliverables• Provide inputs to PM for program-centric internal and external financial performance reporting
  • Assist in the review of existing processes and policies, and the development of new Program Division processes and policies
  • Ensure compliance with company processes and policies 
  • Assist with the issuance and execution of subcontracts.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES 

  • Experience with developing, reviewing, and executing against large financial budgets
  • Experience reviewing and developing company processes and policies
  • Experience in ensuring cross functional teams maintain compliance with company policy
  • Experience with financial data, to include reviewing cost center allocations and ensuring accurate invoicing
  • Experience with proposal process and reviewing RFP responses
  • Experience working with contractors/subcontractors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, with an emphasis on MS Excel
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a contract based company

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at one time

TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position for meetings, trainings, and/or site visits.
