What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Technician position at GMV?
GMV specializes in all things technical for bus-based public transit authorities in the US and worldwide. This means we design, manufacture, and manage at least 10 different technical systems inside a transit bus, including network, dispatch communications, headsigns, passenger counters, announcers, and GPS tracking. It also means we build real-time information systems for riders ("Bus in 7, 10 min") including apps and digital signage found at bus stops. We also build the software and hardware needed for dispatch to communicate in real-time with a bus transit fleet. We hope this excites you!
We're looking for people committed to our mission and not afraid to get on a plane, go to a customer site, and get their hands dirty on a transit bus to make sure our complex system runs optimally.
Join us and be part of our highly talented and innovative team as a Production Technician, where you will be:
- You will work closely with our Engineers to stay on top of firmware updates, hardware troubleshooting and provisioning instructions.
- Incoming parts need to be quality tested before going to the shelf.
- Outgoing products need to be assembled and provisioned (think, setting up a new phone).
- Damaged or defective parts need to be reviewed, fixed, or processed for warranty.

- You should know how to use a multimeter, work with lower power systems, do basic IT tasks like networking, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
- Critical thinker with the ability to problem solve and make suggestions.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
- Experience following detailed instructions.
- Ability to adjust to changing due dates, priorities and processes.
- Technical degree.
- Knowledgeable in solder types and techniques.
- Experience operating a 3D printer.
- Ability to read circuit board schematics and populate components.

Compensation:
This role pays approximately $28.85hr - $36.05hr depending on experience and qualifications. It includes a bonus program, comprehensive health and dental, 401(k) with matching, and paid family leave. The PTO policy increases with seniority, but starts with 15 Days PTO 4 days flex 9 company holidays.
