What are the responsibilities and job description for the Category Manager position at GN Group?
The category manager is responsible for professional category focused business plan development and localizing business unit strategy from inception through product/solution/campaign launch and in market lifecycle. The category manager will be dedicated to the Professionals Business Unit and develop the North American business plan for Professionals products, such as enterprise headsets and other collaboration tools, to achieve regional business goals. The category manager will be measured on both the plan and the execution of the plan. The individual will facilitate alignment, influence execution of cross functional go-to-market plan resource proposals. The individual will provide category thought leadership to both the North American sales and leadership teams and the global business unit teams. The category manager will also provide monthly governance reviews and leadership updates, with progress and justification as needed.

Primary responsibilities of the role:
Develops North American Professionals category strategy & execution plan to drive growth and achieve targets Provide category insights and proposals by analyzing customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions Aligns across functional teams to develop and execute business plans. Determines resource needs to grow or exit strategies before major failure Optimize product positioning within Collaboration to maximize visibility

Day-to-day tasks:
Collect and analyze market data and customer feedback, report and communicate
Develop collaboration business plans, project plans and metrics for success measurement
Cross functional influence and alignment to achieve business outcomes
Challenge and flex business cases as part of business plan
Prioritize and activate key initiatives, attract funding & resources if needed
Communicate with market and customers as key subject matter expert
Provide insights to sales teams to drive account NPS and market/business development
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA desired / preferred
Experience
10-12 years combination experience of strategy development, category management, product management and marketing
Domain experience in unified collaboration products and services and / or consumer electronics industry is highly desired
Has proven and demonstrated ability to communicate, influence, and manage cross functional relationships
Is results oriented, a self-starter, energetic, determined to succeed, and an entrepreneurial individual placing primary focus on the category goals and objectives.
Has proven experience managing company resources effectively both within a group and across groups and has demonstrated ability to work with and through others to execute action plans for desired results.
Has a highly organized working style: ability to handle and manage multiple projects simultaneously through a systematic approach.
