OPERATIONS SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Operations Specialist
SALARY RANGE: Negotiable based upon qualifications and experience

REPORTS TO: Vice President & Cashier
CATEGORY: Full Time
HOURS: Monday-Friday; 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
DATE: Immediate
SUMMARY: Operations specialist will have day to day tasks and responsibilities involving time sensitive deadlines and extensive financial and operations detail. Responsibilities will include ACH file processing, exception item processing, wire transfers, online banking support.
The position requires frequent interaction and cooperation with other branch operation personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees;
2. Contributes to the overall profitability of the branch through cost controls and income generation.
3. Assists or may perform all technical operational areas; including but not limited to incoming and outgoing ACH and wire transfer processing; debit card dispute processing; stop payments; acceptance and research procedures for a variety of legal processes; and scanning of documents.
4. Assists other branch offices in resolving operational inquiries and providing staff support; participates in various internal projects assigned by senior management.
5. Ensures implementation and compliance to meet security precautions and protect customer deposits, bank assets and staff.
6. Develops understanding of ACH rules and regulations. Provides ACH support and expertise to other branches.
7. Cross-trains less experienced branch personnel.
8. Consistently applies superior decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.
9. Follows direction of GNBank’s Vice President and Cashier to assure that the bank’s standardized policies, procedures are followed, including but not limited to ACH; Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering; Regulations E and CC.
10. Assumes responsibility for special projects; gathers data and prepares reports for Senior Management, audits and other personnel.
11. Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems or inquiries.
12. Operates personal computer to process account activity, determine balances and resolve problems, prepare reports, letters, and email within given authority.
13. Answers telephones, answers questions and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.
14. Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.

16. Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the Bank’s goals and values; benefits the bank through outside activities.

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The incumbent is in a non-confined office type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. It could include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting up to 30 pounds, carrying, seeing and identifying numbers in endorsements on back of checks, sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school; or 5 years of related experience and/or training in an office environment; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of office environment with various software programs and some server maintenance.
- Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank operational policies and procedures, and the Bank’s products and services would be helpful.
- Experience and proficiency using the Microsoft Office software package (i.e. Word and Excel) and experience with formatting text.
Problem-solving skills, with the demonstrated ability to resolve situations utilizing knowledge of policies and procedures.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision while performing duties.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
