Speech Language Pathologist
Location: New Braunfels, TX
Pay: $42/hour

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our educational team in New Braunfels, TX. As an essential member of our team, the SLP will play a crucial role in providing speech and language services to students with communication challenges. Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students. Use standardized tests, observations, and other appropriate tools to evaluate communication skills and diagnose specific disorders.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEP): Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to develop and implement personalized IEPs for students with speech and language disorders. Ensure that goals are measurable, achievable, and aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Therapy Services: Provide individual and group therapy sessions to students with communication difficulties, addressing areas such as articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, pragmatics, and social communication.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document the progress of each student's communication skills. Adjust therapy techniques and interventions based on ongoing assessments to ensure continuous improvement.
- Supportive Interventions: Work closely with teachers to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom environment. Offer guidance and support to help teachers accommodate the needs of students with communication disorders.
- Parent and Teacher Collaboration: Communicate effectively with parents and teachers regarding students' progress, therapy strategies, and home-based activities to reinforce speech and language development.
- Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Compliance and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports as required by state and federal regulations. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and policies related to special education and speech-language services.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Hold a valid license to practice Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Texas.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs.
- Knowledge of various therapy techniques, tools, and resources for addressing speech and language disorders.
- Understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other relevant laws governing special education.
