What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Electronics Technician position at Goddard Space Flight Center?
As a Lead Electronics Technician in the Flight Systems Integration and Test Branch, Electrical Engineering Division, Applied Engineering and Technology Directorate, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, preparing, and/or installing electronics and space/flight hardware or equipment; developing and maintaining facilities to support verification, validation, and operation of aerospace flight and ground support hardware; and leading and training a group of electronics technicians.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service:

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service:
- Performing duties involving work on space/flight hardware to develop, test, or perform work on prototype electronic equipment by applying knowledge of electronic theory, circuit design, and their operating characteristics;
- Performing duties including maintenance, installation, fabrication, testing and evaluation, research and development, sustainment, or troubleshooting of electronic equipment and space/flight hardware; and
- Leading other electronic technicians in the development of space/flight hardware on prototype level or building a mechanism that has not been built before using a design or a theory (e.g. FlatSat).
