Supported Living Specialist Job Description
Gold Mettle Recovery is an integrative behavioral health organization that specializes in substance abuse treatment program. We provide an outpatient, culturally relevant curriculum that is influenced by traditions as well as identified as evidenced based practices. We are currently hiring for a Supported Living Specialist role. The Supported Living Specialist provides a leadership role in the homes delivering direct care services for patients enrolled in GMR program. Services include transportation, facilitation of groups, patient support, and independent skills building in a fully comprehensive substance abuse treatment program provided in a community setting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supported Living Specialist provides services in the public behavioral health system shall receive clinical oversight by a BHP.
- Supported Living Specialist shall also demonstrate the following key competencies:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant best clinical practices and policies that guide the services being provided,
- Demonstrated knowledge of the policies and principles governing ethical practice,
- Demonstrated ability to develop individualized competency development goals and action steps to accomplish these goals, and
- Demonstrated ability to advise, coach, and directly model behavior to improvinterpersonal and service delivery skills.
- Encourage participation and to provide focus and guidance for discussions within the group.
- Negotiate/facilitate conflicts or disagreements that may arise during group meetings.
- Liaise between Site Staff and the group participants.
- Welcome new members to the group and provide information on both the operation of the group and the Self-Help service.
- Inform group members on how to access Gold Mettle Recovery for up-to-date information regarding the status of groups and meetings. (weather, unexpected reasons)
- Keep Site Staff informed of any issues which violate or jeopardize the operation of the service.
- Follow all the guidelines, policies and procedures as provided by the company.
Training:
Supported Living Specialists are provided with an orientation to GMR services, as well as training materials developed specifically for this role (facilitation skills and resources, conflict resolution techniques, interpersonal skills, etc.). Supported Living Specialists are provided on-the-job training by the house staff and executive team prior to working independently. Supported Living Specialists are expected to participate in on-going training, one-to-one coaching and staff meetings to enrich their experience.
Qualifications:
- 21 years of age or older
- Has personal experience with the issue or barriers to be discussed in the group meetings
- Has good communication skills
- Ideally has Behavioral Health Technician certification or Peer Support certification with at least 6 months of direct care service experience in behavioral health.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
