The position's primary focus is in the areas of computer operations, user and desktop support (hardware and software), helpdesk, and data management. Performs various moderately complex information technology support duties to ensure smooth delivery of technology services. Monitors and assists others in the operation of computer hardware, software, and peripherals in order to achieve desired results. Utilizes computer equipment, software, and diagnostic tools to perform a broad range of customer assistance, equipment maintenance and repair, and computer operations assignments. Requires minimum supervision and may act as lead when the need arises. Updates supervisor on the status of projects or technical issues. Exercises judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly, and determines when to refer problems to the supervisor or next level of support.
Typical Duties
- This role would report directly to the I.T. Manager
- Provides training and assistance in the use of personal computer hardware, and software, or operates a multi-platform computer environment or monitors the production scheduling, execution, and successful completion of production jobs;
- Sets up and configures desktop computers, peripherals, and accounts assigning security level;
- Installs software and installs and repairs hardware and peripherals;
- Internet connectivity for members and staff at gyms;
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses problems, implements corrective action procedures within prescribed guidelines, and/or escalates to other technical resources as appropriate;
- Maintains systems and databases;
- Administers user accounts;
- Produce timely and detailed service reports;
- Help with new project implementations
- Will be using ticketing systems including NCentral, Open Wrench, and IssueTrak.
- Sets up and submits production jobs and edits and debugs computer output;
- Transfers computer files between platforms;
- Provides basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance for computer equipment (e.g. Desktops, Laptops, Network Hardware, Peripherals and laser printers) and may assist with testing personal computers and peripherals on a network to diagnose, hardware versus software problems;
- Acts as an internal customer liaison for the computing operation, communicating, resolving, and/or initiating the resolution of problems and concerns;
- Maintains records, Network Documentation, User Docs, Etc.
- Contributes to unit goals by accomplishing related duties as required.

Qualifications:
- Candidate should be a self-starter with good computer hardware and customer service skills;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment (This is for fitness clubs);
- Candidates must provide their own transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance (mileage is reimbursed);
- Networking experience required such as an understanding of VPN, LAN, WAN, and wireless;
- Computer literacy; competency in the use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs;
- POS system experience a plus;
- Strong written and verbal communication;
- Basic knowledge of VMware or Virtual Server environments;
- Basic Knowledge of Microsoft 365;
- Prioritize multiple competing projects and initiatives and focus resources in line with such priorities;
- Demonstrate patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude;
- Logging work on a ticketing system;
- Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment – Printers, Cash Drawers, POS, Access Gates, PCs, etc.;
- Able to speak in non-technical terms with staff;
- May also have to do some lifting of supplies and equipment from time to time up to 50lbs;
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Field Technician or five years of on-site technical support;
- > 1-year work experience in a related field service role;
- High School Diploma required.
Travel Requirements: Based in Northridge, CA, Travel to different locations throughout Southern California. Mileage will be reimbursed.
