Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer I to join our dynamic engineering team supporting the U.S. Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL) in Fort Novosel, AL. As an Electrical Engineer I, you will play a crucial role in designing, testing, and implementing electrical systems and components. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, a passion for innovation, and the ability to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform laboratory procedures, testing, research activities, and other scientific and administrative tasks in the field of engineering.
- Conduct MIL-STD Lab Testing on medical items per MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, including but not limited to relevant standard operation procedures, national standards of research technical accuracy, and/or written guidelines provided.
- Develop test and evaluation test plans, research protocols, and technical reports to include electromagnetic interference (EMI) and environmental chamber test methods.
- Develop test and evaluation test plans, research protocols, and technical reports to include vibration, climatic, altitude, rapid decompression, sand, dust, rain, explosive atmosphere, salt fog, acceleration, and drop testing.
- Assist in the design, set-up and conduct of MIL-STD-461 EMI testing.
- Assist with other test labs to provide EMI technical reviews of airworthiness data.
- Participate in the design and conduct of in-flight test and evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or experience in lieu of degree.
- 1 - 3 years of related experience.
- Experience working in a Test Environment.
- Experience creating reports, presentations, and papers to summarize research findings.
- Experience collecting and analyzing research data.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree is a plus.
- A relevant license or certification.
