TITLE: Senior Credit Risk Analyst DEPARTMENT: Credit Risk STATUS: Exempt   JOB CODE: 4316 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Design, develop, implement and maintain a credit risk management information systems critical to Lending decisions and ensure its alignment to Golden 1’s goals and objectives. Perform complex risk analysis to protect and maintain company assets. Identifies financial risks and recommends measures to avoid or mitigate risks. Develop and implement an independent loan review program for all Golden 1’s loan products and services including, but not limited to, direct and indirect loans, home equity loans, home equity lines of credit, personal loans, and unsecured loans. TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS: Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including: USA Patriot Act, bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.Implement and maintain an effective information management system critical to credit/risk management decisions. Includes performing data extraction, data cleansing, data normalization and data staging of all data sets to ensure data integrity.Monitor and report credit product risk and portfolio trends. Assist in mitigating and monitoring all risks in Golden 1’s lending functions including transaction risks, credit risk, operational risk, compliance risk, and concentrations risk.Develop and maintain metrics, KPI’s, dashboards, scorecards, graphs, reports and any other means to measure and monitor Golden 1’s asset quality and loss exposure. This includes querying, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating qualitative and quantitative data associated with credit risk.Conduct independent loan reviews to ensure compliance with Golden 1’s policies, underwriting rules, applicable state and federal laws, and Golden 1’s asset quality standards. Communicate the results of the independent reviews effectively, both orally and through written presentations and reports. In addition, make recommendations to correct any weaknesses or deficiencies noted.Responsible for evaluating decision engines and recommend changes to increase operational, risk, and control effectiveness. Assist with implementation of underwriting strategies in all decision engines.Design and perform various types of analysis such as Vintage, Time Series, Deep Dive, What-If, and Root Cause analysis on Golden 1 lending portfolios. Analyze and report key findings. Recommend appropriate policies, procedures, controls, and underwriting guidelines to manage risk.Research, collect, and analyze external macro-economic and industry trends and forecast impacting consumer credit risk.  Lead or participate on project teams or special projects as needed. This includes representing corporate wide projects as the Credit Risk Subject Matter Expert (SME).Provide functional application and business expertise to support the team by coaching and mentoring colleagues on best practices and business processes.Perform additional ad hoc business analysis and other tasks as needed.  PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS: Effective oral and written communication skills required to interact with all levels of employees, prepare reports and make presentations as needed.Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS: INTERNAL: All departments, all levels of staff and management.EXTERNAL: Peers in other financial institutions, external auditors, consultants, vendors, credit reporting agencies and financial institutions regulators. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science). Advance degree desirable.EXPERIENCE: Seven years or more experience in Credit Risk. Previous experience in various areas of Lending (direct and indirect loans, home equity loans, home equity lines of credit, personal loans and unsecured loans) preferred.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Significant experience with statistical software such as SAS, R, Python, or Stata.Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel skills.Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an exemplary attention to detail.Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze large volume of data.Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts.Excellent planning, time management, decision making, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines for multiple concurrent projects. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required.Corrected vision within the normal range.Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.Unusually long work hours may be required to accomplish tasks. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:  Completion of loan officer training program or credit training certification is desirable.
